Our Palm Leaf hats are of the highest quality, we have traveled to the manufacturers factory and had the privilege of seeing the hats made and packed for shipment. If the hat is of the extra fine weave or of the dark aged palm all are of the best quality. The palm leaf hats are actually made of palm fibers that are spun in the same manner as yarn. After the fibers are made into strands of fiber they are sewed by hand with a basic sewing machine into hat brims and crowns. The hat is sewn together and heat pressed into shape. The hat then receives a inside hat band the adornment, hatband, binding, or whatever is required to finish the hat.
Since every hat is hand crafted the palm leaf is one of the more expensive hats available. The hat is also extremely durable and one of the best sun screening hats on the market.

BIG GUS
We call this hat the Pinto Gus. the crown and brim have a dark navy blue design and along the outer edge of the brim. The crown is 3 1/2" in the front and 6" in the back. This palm leaf hat is fine weave with a faux leather sweatband and brown leather-like hat band. (Please note that there is no choice in hatbands)
